- DLR is the most affluent local authority in the State, though there are several areas and groups experiencing disadvantage
- DLR has the highest rate of personal computer ownership in the country and second highest rate of broadband connectivity
- 14.5% of people in the DLR area are over 65. This is higher than for Dublin as a whole (10.9%) and higher than the national average (11.7%).
- 18.2% of people in the DLR area are aged between 0 and 14. This is lower than for Dublin as a whole (19.3%) and lower than the national average (21.3%).
