Do you have a full understanding of the proposed new Planning Bill going through the Oireachtas?

Are you aware of the extent to which this Bill if enacted, will weaken the role of local planners and centralise even further the power of the Minister in respect of local planning? Are you aware of the proposals that will limit citizens’ participation in the planning process?  In light of the radical shift in planning law that the new Planning Bill would bring, why is there no government information campaign to raise citizens’ awareness about the Bill?

It wouldn’t be surprising if most people don’t but, as Councillors, I feel it is part of our job to give you as much information as we can so you can know what’s happening.
